Safeguarding training is important, but staff also need to feel confident applying what they know in real situations. These cards are designed to help managers keep safeguarding conversations alive throughout the year by asking one simple question at a time.
The questions encourage employees and volunteers to explain what they would actually do in different safeguarding situations, rather than simply recalling information from a training course. Topics include recognising and responding to concerns, child protection procedures, disclosures, allegations about adults, professional boundaries, whistleblowing, children with SEND, online harm, staff responsibilities and understanding your setting’s safeguarding procedures.
Each pack contains 40 professionally printed 4″ x 6″ double-sided cards, supplied in a durable plastic storage box to keep them safe, organised and ready to use.
Simply ask a team member to choose a card and answer the question. If their answer identifies a knowledge gap, use it as an opportunity for discussion, coaching and learning. Revisit the question another day to check their understanding and confidence.
The cards are ideal for use during walkabouts, staff meetings, supervision, induction, safeguarding refreshers and team discussions.
